UN Women Nepal Country Office welcomes the mid-year evaluation’s overall findings. The evaluation report highlights that the “Strengthening Implementation of Women, Peace and Security Agenda in Nepal” (SIWPSAN) project has been well-conceptualized and progress against its outputs are satisfactory. Overall, in the midterm, the project is on track to achieving the planned results . The recommendations clearly show the need for strengthening coordination amongst project partners, women and children office (WCO) and other actors for localization of the NAP on UNSC 1325 and 1820. Collective ownership by government officials, strengthening local networks, capacity development of social mobilizers should be addressed in the remaining project period. The recommendations are of great value in supporting UN Women’s efforts to effectively localize NAP implementation. UN Women will focus on developing an exit strategy to ensure smooth transition and sustainability, strengthen coordination among project partners, revise a few ambitious indicators and continue to enhance the capacities of project staff.
