Recommendation: Recommendations at sub-regional level: Evaluation Recommendation 1: Make the decision to recognize VAW/G as a major and endemic human rights violation and a threat to the peace and development of the sub-region and affirm this at the level of the country offices
Management Response: Management Response: AGREE - the basis of UN Women work is founded in the Beijing Platform for Action, CEDAW and regional instruments. UN Women globally has recognized VAW/G and has made it one of the key thematic areas of focus. The same focus is relevant and has been maintained at sub regional and country levels.

In addition, a new Kenya country program strategy 2012/2013 has been developed on the basis of UN Women mandate defining engagement on VAWG and incorporating the humanitarian component.
